Stig is a caveman who lives at the bottom of an old quarry close to Barney's grandmother's house. Barney finds Stig one day when he falls through the roof of Stig's den. They become friends, even though they cannot talk to each other.

Since the quarry is no longer in use, people throw all their rubbish away down there; Stig is good at finding new ways in which to use old things.

On the same day that they cut down an enormous tree (getting warm once in the process) and then use it to start a fire (getting warm for the second time) Stig picks up a piece of charred wood and uses it to draw an amazing hunting scene on the chalk wall of the den.

Then we had a go at using charcoal and chalks to make our own hunting scene. We dusted the paper with charcoal powder and smudged it to give it a greyish background. Then we used charcoal and chalk to make our scene.

"I like yours because it has a nice horse," said Umar.jdhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12775085299874824485noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-451245831345800049.post-38362150413038596332008-04-23T15:28:00.004+02:002008-04-23T16:02:53.259+02:00Tuesday Newsday - Where in the World? With our current unit in mind, this week we tried to tell 'Where in the World' our news happened.

"A scientist who was studying monkeys in the continent of Africa felt hungry and he used a stick to try to get some fruit from a tree; but he was unable to get any. After taking a walk around the school, we had a go at trying to make a record of everything; from the classrooms to the kitchen, the music room to the French rooms and the library.

Take a look at mine. "I don't know how I did it. It was a little bit hard. I don't know if others could use it, but they could try. I did the toy kitchen first in the central space. I think I missed some rooms. Can I have another go?"

How does it compare with the real thing?

jdhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12775085299874824485noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-451245831345800049.post-74396937760228757642008-02-28T21:32:00.005+01:002008-02-29T13:12:08.257+01:00Cards MemoryInvented by Sofia, Danah and Michelle

Rules: You are not allowed to look

· First we put the blindfold on
· Spread the cards out, face down
· Feel two cards

· If they are the same you say, ‘SAME’
· If it’s not the same you say, ‘NOT SAME’
· If they are not the same you put them back; give the blindfold to another person
· If they are the same you get another turn
· Whoever has the most cards, they winjdhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12775085299874824485noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-451245831345800049.post-3882408449152714152008-01-26T20:02:00.000+01:002008-01-26T20:08:23.428+01:00plasticThis is a girl and it is made out of plastic and her hair is made of plastic ribbon.

‘I like the way you made it,’ said Swati.jdhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12775085299874824485noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-451245831345800049.post-43124574415458466392007-11-23T12:34:00.000+01:002007-12-08T18:56:48.549+01:00I made a mistakeI went to the shop
and I made a mistake and I went to the partyjdhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12775085299874824485noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-451245831345800049.post-60488724832322766572007-11-15T13:37:00.000+01:002007-12-08T19:07:56.854+01:00Patterns on my socks

MICHELLE: My pattern is dark pink and lighter pink and light pink and white and ghreen and dark green and pale green and yellow and brown and dark red and then it starts again.
